California Airlines only considers pilots who have proven themselves in other branches of the airline.

The rank of Flight captain or higher is required of any pilot wishing to apply for golden bear flight service.

All approved applicants begin their flight testing in our CRJ-700 aircraft.

Upon completion of the 1st "Check Ride", the pilot is then required to file a detailed flight report of the entire flight, from takeoff through landing. Once the "Check Ride" report has been filed, it will be reviewed by our Golden Bear Service and Check Ride Administrator

If everything is in order, the pilot will be notified of their certification, and the Golden Bear Service PIN is added to their California Airlines ID Card.
